Lads Club Ladies FC

2013/14 Season – Lads Club Girls

The girls section at Hereford Lads Club continues to expand and with the introduction of a new ‘age format’ for the 2013/14 season we have entered 10 junior girls teams into the Herefordshire Girls League. Our newly formed Lads Club Ladies team are entered into the Herefordshire & Worcestershire league whilst the U14 Vixens team have switched to the Gloucestershire League where they will compete against a stronger selection of teams.

Our reputation as one of the West Midlands leading Girls Football Clubs keeps gathering momentum as we expand all our age groups and at the same time introduce new coaches for all the new teams. This season we’re entering three under 8 teams into the newly formed ‘friendly league’. These teams are made of girls in years 2 and 3 and all three teams are already showing the signs of forming future formidable sides. Our policy of continuing to train throughout the summer months has paid dividend as team bonding, team building and fitness are all essential parts of successful teams.

Our youngest u8 Lions team, managed by Sammy and Hannah, are made up of girls who are just going into year 2. The girls boundless energy and endless enthusiasm will mean they’ll gain supporters and friends wherever they play. The u8 Vixens team is managed by Amy Bradley and Sharleen Watkins. Both Amy and Sharleen are exceptionally talented football players themselves and will undoubtedly pass on their enthusiasm and skills to this team of year 3 girls. The u8 Tigers will be managed by Chloe Mills and Marcin Jaworski, both of whom have numerous years experience of playing football at a high standard. Again I know their enthusiasm and dedication will help this team progress into becoming a great side. We are extremely lucky to have such a talented group of year 2 & 3 girls playing for our club.

This will be our second season for our u10 teams who’s maturity and style of play blossomed last season with our teams taking the top 2 slots of the u9 league. This season Terry Bullock (and his daughter) have moved over to the u10 Pumas and along with follow coaches Claire McIlroy and Rian Smith will help this team become the complete package – enthusiasm, skill, pace, determination and great team ethos…. what more can you ask for !

The surprise package from last season has to be the u10 Tigers. Managed by Fred Johns, they played their first ever competitive league game last September… and they’ve never looked back. The introduction of some new players throughout the season help strengthen an already awesome little team. During the summer months this team played and won every tournament they entered, look out next summer !!

We’ve three teams entered into the u12 league – The U12 Tigers, managed by Sarah Reed, have already written their place in the Lads Club history books as when they were a young u10 team they won the the English u10 futsal competition and were crowned NATIONAL FUTSAL CHAMPIONS (not bad for a team from rural Herefordshire). For the past 2 season they’ve remained undefeated and have finished as both league and cup winners.

The u12 Belles and u12 Vixens are both the youngest in the teams in the league with the teams being made up of of girls in year 6. These teams are impossible to separate as their league form has shown over the the past 2 seasons. The mix of players in both teams (from goalkeepers through to attackers) will mean that again they’ll give any team in the league a run for their money. Watch out for these teams in future years as they’re both terrific. The U12 Vixens team is managed by Mark Gwynne and the U12 Belles will be run by Matt Young, Ben Pearson, Lisa Kedwood and Sam Pearson.

With the introduction of a new coach and manager (Steve Bond and Steve Holman) this team have decided  to move to the Gloucestershire league as they wish to compete against a stronger selection of teams. This majority of players in this team have been with the club since the age of 8 but have recently added a few new players to add strength in depth as they are now playing 11v11 on full sized pitches. Both Claire Brown and Amy Wright will still be involved with the team and a big than you goes out to them both for all the hard work they contributed over the past 4 years with this team.

As Fred Johns has stepped down as manager (to consentrate on his u10 Tigers team) this has given Jamie Wright the opportunity to take this team on and prepare them for when they move onto the ladies team. Its going to be an exceiting time for both the manager and the players as we have a great team of very skilful and dedicated footballers. Watch this space for regular updates.

A brand new and exciting venture for this club, managed by Clive Powis and Marcus Jenkins they’ve to put together a young but experienced team and with the backing and support of parents and the club we are committed to making this team a real success. We’re still keen to recruit new players and would welcome any any enquiry.

Over the season team managers will be uploading team photographs and match reports so please keep viewing our website.
