ABOUT THE TEAM

U9 Pumas

U9 Pumas are a great example of how Hereford Lads Club’s development pathway can grow into a successful team environment. Both Dan Hill and Luke Darlington originally had children taking part in the club’s development sessions, but when the opportunity came to form a new team, the club was initially short of both players and volunteers. Dan and Luke stepped forward to take on the coaching role and also played a key part in recruiting additional players to get the team established. Now into their second year, the U9 Pumas have made outstanding progress under their guidance. The players have developed significantly in confidence, ability and understanding of the game, while also building a strong team identity and togetherness. They have grown into one of the stronger sides within their age group and are capable of competing with anyone on their day. The team continues to focus on development, enjoyment and giving every player the opportunity to improve, while maintaining the positive and supportive environment that has been central to their progress from the very beginning.
