Girls: Ross Juniors Under 11 v Lads Club Belles Under 11’s.

Ross Juniors 1 – Lads Cub Belles 0

Another fiercely contested match in this competitive League saw the Belles lose to a single second half goal at the Ross Wyeside pitch on Sunday 7 October.

The Belles were dominant in the early stages of the first half with the Ross Juniors goalie being called into action on a number of occasions to deny the active attacking trio of the Belles team from their free kicks and open play. Ross came more into the game as the half progressed with the Belles goalkeeper being forced to make a number of good saves, but the teams went in level at half time.

The second half saw a repeat of the first with defences of both sides being dominant, but with ten minutes to go a goal mouth melee saw a scrambled goal for the Ross Juniors.

The final minutes again saw the Belles gallantly search for an equaliser, only to be denied again by last ditch clearances and good goalkeeping with the result being a home win for Ross.

The spirit showed by the Belles team was admirable and although disappointed about the result the girls will progress during the year.
