Lads Club Belles u 11 V Leominster Minors u 11

Belles 5 – Leominster 0

The Belles entertained Leominster Minors U 11 on Sunday 15 December in a Shield Plate semi-final and in an enthralling game at Widemarsh Common the Belles ran out convincing 5-0 winners.

The Belles elected to start with Caitlin and Heloise up front with and caused the Leominster defence problems from the start but Leominster held firm until the fourteenth minute when a run down the right and shot from Heloise broke the deadlock.

The Leominster defence proved stubborn for the remainder of the first half as chances came and went for Izzy, Heloise, Grace and Chloe; but just as halftime was looming a storming run down the left hand side from Clare ended with a powerful left foot shot high past the keeper to double the Belles’s advantage.

The second half saw a repeat of the first with a dominant Belles attack and incessant pressure from Chloe and Grace causing the Leominster defence problems saw them both score a goal apiece.

The Belles defence of Maisie, Libby and Harriet contained the Leominster attack and then as the game drew to a close a powerful run from Izzy saw her claim a goal with a powerful right foot shot past the keeper.

The final whistle saw a deserved 5-0 scoreline for the Belles following a great team performance and they can now look forward to a Shield Final at Edgar Street in the Spring.
