LADS CLUB GIRLS U15 2-0 PEGASUS GIRLS U15 | MATCH REPORT BY FRED JOHNS

LADS CLUB GIRLS U15 2-0 PEGASUS GIRLS U15 | MATCH REPORT BY FRED JOHNS

CONSIDERING A LACK OF MATCH PLAY BECAUSE OF THE BAD  WEATHER THROUGHOUT WINTER,  LADS CLUB GIRLS DID NOT DISAPPOINT IN THIS SEMI FINAL FIXTURE.

THEY PUT PEGASUS UNDER PRESSURE FOR LONG PERIODS OF THE GAME HARDLY LETTING THEM OUT OF THE PEGASUS  HALF,  PENNING THEM IN AND DEFENDING HIGH UP THE PITCH.

LADS CLUB WERE PASSING THE BALL AROUND WELL AND USING THE WIDTH TO THEIR ADVANTAGE WITH JOSIE EVANS AND CAITLIN YOUNG ON EITHER FLANK EXPLOITING THE SPACE AND FINDING POCKETS FOR ELLA HILL AND SIAN SNOOKS TO FEED THE BALL INTO

THIS LIMITED PEGASUS CHANCES WHICH RESULTED IN LADS CLUB TAKING THE LEAD AFTER 20 MINUTES WHEN ELLA HILL PICKED UP THE BALL FROM MIDFIELD ROUNDED THE DEFENDER AND SMASHED THE BALL INTO THE BACK OF THE NET TO GIVE THEM A WELL DESERVED HALF TIME LEAD.

IN THE SECOND HALF THINGS WERE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME AND WHENEVER PEGASUS DID ATTEMPT TO GO FORWARD KAYTLYN TOMKINS, JAY LEGGE AND TAYLER HEADLAND WERE THERE TO BREAK ANYTHING UP LEAVING GOALKEEPER CASEY ELLIS WITH ONLY A COUPLE OF SAVES TO MAKE ALL GAME.

WITH SOPHIE JOHNS AND AMY CARTER SHARING THE FORWARD ROLE THEY WERE GETTING FORWARD AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY HOLDING THE BALL UP WELL AND HELPING OUT IN MIDFIELD WHEN NEEDED.

THE SECOND GOAL WAS ALWAYS GOING TO COME AND WHEN JOSIE EVANS TOOK ADVANTAGE OF A SHORT GOAL KICK SHE POUNCED ON THE BALL TO KNOCK  IT PAST THE KEEPER TO MAKE IT 2-0 WHICH WAS A WELL DESERVED GOAL AS SHE HAD WORKED TIRELESSLY ALL GAME AND WAS MAN OF THE MATCH.

WELL DONE GIRLS EDGAR STREET HERE WE COME AGAIN…………………..WHOOP WHOOP!!
