Lads Club u11 Belles v Pegasus u11

Sunday 23rd September 2012

Second game of the season for both teams, and what a brilliant game it was. Both teams got off to a good start last weekend with wins and went into this game on a high. Right from kick off, both teams had plenty of chances…and surprisingly when the whistle blew for half time the score was 0-0. The second half kicked off and both goalkeepers were called into action as both teams tried to break the deadlock.

The game looked destined to be a draw and that looked like a fair result for both teams….but with 5 minutes to go a Pegasus attack ended up with a Lads Club Belles defender making an excellent tackle, only to see the ball pop up and hit her on the arm (which was tucked into her chest)…and the ref blows for a penalty..very harsh as the defender could do nothing about it.

The Pegasus stricker placed the ball on the spot….stepped back…..and tucked her shot into the bottom corner to put her team in the lead..good finish..and the whistle blows with Pegasus winning 1-0.

Well done girls an excellent game of football..
