Lads Club Girls U15’s 2 – 0 Pegasus U15’s

Lads Club Girls U15’s 2 – 0 Pegasus U15’s

This was always going to be a tight game as past results have shown and this was no exception.

The first goal coming after eight minutes  when the Pegasus goalkeeper didn’t get much distance on her goal kick and Ella Hill picked the ball up from her advancing midfield role and ran through on goal and slotted it past the helpless Pegasus keeper.

The game remained very tight as both teams failed to get into their rhythm and it remained 1-0 until ten minutes into the second half when Josie Evans worked hard on the right to beat her player and then crossed it to Ella Hill who then dinked it into the top corner.

Lads Club then kept Pegasus at bay and stoppped them from having a single shot on goal through some solid defending from Jade Laurie,  Jay Legge and Tayler Headland.

Girl of the match Ella Hill came close to her hat-trick with a cracking free kick that crashed off the crossbar.

The game ended in a 2-0 win to Lads Club Girls.

Lads Club u9 Puma’s v Lads Club u9 Tigers

Lads Club u9 Puma’s v Lads Club u9 Tigers

Lads Club u9 Puma’s v Lads Club u9 Tigers
Sunday 30th September

Both these teams are undefeated in the league so far this season so this was always going to be a very tight game. The Puma’s started well and pressurised the Tigers defence from the off. The Tigers are a young team but are gaining in confidence each week so it was a pleasure to see how well they stood up to some great play from a determined Puma’s team.  Puma’s took the lead mid way through the first half after the Tiger’s were unable to clear their goal after a defensive mix up. The Tiger’s kept plugging away with both Halle Magness and Maddie Johns trying to break through a strong Puma’s defence, but to no avail. The second half saw some great individual runs from both Bernie Evans (Puma’s) and Molly Middleton (Tiger’s) but it was the Puma’s who added to their first half lead and the game finished with the Puma’s winning 3 – 0.

Well played both teams and thank you to all the parents / grandparents etc for their continued support.

Gloucester City Tournament

Gloucester City Tournament

First picture – Hereford Lads Club u10 girls finished as runners up the the Gloucester City girls tournament. The weather conditions were awful with torrential rain for most of the day but this great little side (who were the youngest team in the u10 section) played attractive, quick football and even beat the eventual tournament winner the Lads Club u10 Tigers team !!

A great day had by all, bring on the rest of the ‘summer tournaments’……….

Second picture – a combination team photograph with four very happy coaches (!) – Lads Club u10 Tigers (in green) won the tournament and were presented with a super cup, what a team.

Lads Club’s Amy Bradley Selected By Chelsea FC

Lads Club’s Amy Bradley Selected By Chelsea FC

Amy Bradley (pictured with Coach, Jamie Wright) has been selected by Chelsea to play in their ladies academy team. Amy has played for Lads Club since she was 11 and is probably the most technically gifted footballer the girls’ section has ever had play for the club. Amy will be traveling to Chelsea each week where she will be at 6th form college, from there she will be training each day at Chelsea F.C. I know everyone involved at the club wishes her great success and we’ll be looking out for her in an England shirt !
